CLIENT CHALLENGE
Creating a product that meets everyday needs and is present in the most meaningful moments of its consumers’ lives that is the business objective of Luiza Barcelos, one of Brazil’s leading footwear and handbag brands.
Since its foundation in 1989, the brand has focused on femininity, richness in details, and building a relationship of trust with its customers. Therefore, throughout its successful trajectory, it has prioritized quality and harmony across most of its product lines.
Today, with two manufacturing units (Minas Gerais and Rio Grande do Sul), approximately 800 points of sale across the country, an online store, 11 concept stores, and a presence in around ten locations abroad, Luiza Barcelos aims to be part of the lives of women who write their own stories.
To enhance the refinement and personal touch of its products, the main challenge of this lighting project was to reduce electricity and corrective maintenance costs, provide greater safety and comfort for approximately 300 employees, contribute to environmental sustainability, and, most importantly, increase productivity and quality control of its exclusive shoes and handbags.
THE AALOK LED LIGHTING PROJECT
The lighting project developed by AALOK for the brand’s headquarters in Belo Horizonte was 100% customized to meet the demands of each sector of the factory.
In the first phase, a feasibility study of the lighting project was conducted with the aim of assessing the physical conditions of the facility and the actual costs the client would incur with the lighting replacement.
This lighting project utilized AALOK Quantum and Kéops LED luminaires, developed and manufactured by AALOK engineers.
Both feature over 100,000 hours of lifespan, controlled thermal management, operational stability and safety, and lenses that ensure light emission without waste, thanks to their optimized photometry.
Luminaires Used
The Quantum features a design oriented toward industrial applications, while the Kéops can be used in both industrial and roadway environments, thanks to its self-cleaning structure and its models: pendant, floodlight, or pole.
In total, 290 conventional luminaires were replaced with 100% recyclable AALOK LED technology, which guarantees for 5 years the illuminance level required by NBR 8995:2013.
The entire project was carried out with no initial investment from the client, through AALOK Performance Contracts, in which it is possible to lease the lighting equipment, and the amount to be paid corresponds solely to a portion of the energy savings achieved by the AALOK LED luminaires.
